Our clients were dreaming about a lifestyle of family eating, cooking and socialising and so they wanted an open plan kitchen/dining space. This ambition also came with the desire to remodel internally, extend at the rear and convert the attic space. Our team took this brief even further and took the opportunity to bring natural light into a previously dark ground floor of the house.
The existing side extension was remodelled to include a glazed roof and the space extended into the former dining room to create a large kitchen and dining room all of which is now connected to the garden. The new glazing means that the light floods in.
Upstairs, the brief was to create a spacious master bedroom with dressing rooms. We achieved this without the cost of a dormer window extension by arranging the space to maximise the use of existing ceiling height. A single rooflight allows light to stream in during the day and the automatic blind ensures a good night’s sleep.
