This late Georgian property had many period features that had been carefully restored by its previous owners, with the addition of an infill conservatory. However, the house didn’t flow as a family home at all, the plan was disjointed and the modest sized ground floor was divided into 5 fairly small separate rooms.
Our brief was to create a scandi style modern family living space. Our design comprised both a side and rear larch clad extension at ground floor in order to open up the living/dining/kitchen space, creating a separate snug, toilet and cloak room to the front of the property. The extension also allowed for a hidden utility and pantry to be included off of the kitchen.
Upstairs, in order to create a more generous master bedroom, we designed a rear dormer, with the key concept being to frame the beautiful view over the park and allotments that are at the rear of the property.
