Moving into a family friendly area, the house had loads of period features but lacked an open plan family space and any real connection to the garden. Working from home was a priority and the rear extension to this property, located in a conservation area, allowed for an open kitchen dining area to act as the hub of the home with a large island unit and breakfast bar. The addition also provided a much needed studio space for creative working and a flowing inside/outside space. The connection between the interior and exterior space was key, the garden was to become an integral part of the home. It was also essential that the extension to the rear dressed the back wall of the house which was originally plain and lacking any real character.
Andy Lewis Landscapes created the garden ensuring a fluid design concept was followed throughout.
