This beautiful period property is in a unique location and was very much in need of up-dating. It was top heavy with 4 bedrooms, the amount and size of accommodation on the upper floors wasn’t balanced by the kitchen and living accommodation below.

Our client is a fantastic business woman who loved living on Chorlton Green in a property that sits next to the refurbished and converted Old School House in a conservation area.

Our initial brief was to address the unsuitably small kitchen but our client was so pleased with the initial ideas that they led to a bigger project

The project involved the complete up-date of the whole house integrating interiors, artwork and artefacts. The work comprised:

  • A ground floor extension giving an open plan living/dining/kitchen space each with their own defined zone.
  • Aluminium bi-fold doors onto the garden.
  • An attic conversion with dormer, extensive internal remodelling including new kitchen and bathrooms.
  • A full insulation of the large gable wall with a self coloured acrylic render by Sto,
  • A basement re-planning including a new drained cavity tanking system, a new bespoke oak stair with glass balustrade as well as WC, utility drying space and multi-use space for work and/or children.

We provided architectural and interior design services as well as handing building regulations and planning consent matters.
